Overview (A Little About Me)I have been attending a gym on a regular basis (at least 5 days per week, religiously) since I was 17 years old. I started training with Lorraine March (Figure and Physique competitor) in SA and competed in SABBA when I was 18 years old. I won my division of first timers with the support of Lorraine. I then trained at The Lodge Fitness Centre in SA from the age of 18 years until 2 and half years ago when I moved to Queensland. Within a day of landing in sunny QLD I was a member of the Empire Fitness Centre.
I love the feeling that exercise gives me. I love feeling strong and enjoy getting out in the sunshine for walks, tennis and fun with my boyfriend and my new Maltese x ShihTzu puppy, Braxton. Although fitness is a big part of my life I try not to let it rule me. I like to get it out of the way in the mornings so that I can enjoy my day at work and come home to enjoy the best part of the day in my home in Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast.
I am a happy and bubbly person (annoying to some) and love sharing my energy for life with others. I have a small group of friends of which I love to spend my time with. My best friend, Anna McKey of Anna McKey designs took the awesome shots of me posted on this site. I love and miss my family who still live in Adelaide, so take regular trips back home for visits. Although I have made the decision to NEVER have children of my own, I love to spend time with my two gorgeous nieces whilst in Adelaide. Training Schedule (Training Style and Tips)I train Monday to Saturday (Saturday being more of a ‘favourites’ day). During the week I get up at 4.15 am and ride my exercise bike then spend about 15 minutes on weights before heading off to the gym at 5.30 am. I then spend 30 minutes running on an incline on the treadmill and 15 – 20 minutes on either the airwalker, boxing bag or rowing machine. I enjoy a good conversation with my good friend, Melody, whilst completing the cardio phase of my training. I find that time goes so much quicker when you have a training buddy to chat to. I spend about 15 minutes each day on my abdominals (always trying to find new exercises that hurts) before completing 30 – 40 minutes of weights. This is broken up into a 4 day rotating cycle…tricep/shoulders, back, bicep/chest, legs. On a Saturday I rarely run…my boyfriend and I get up nice and early and enjoy a walk along the Broadwater, watching the sunrise instead. We then head off to the gym together for a small amount of cardio and some weight training. Sunday is my rest day, however, my boyfriend and I lead a fairly energetic lifestyle so might enjoy a walk, hit of tennis, some nightclubbing etc.
I also love a bit of kickboxing. I have a bag at home that I love to use, or utilise the equipment at the gym, every now and then. I love kickboxing for strength, fitness and something completely different. Nutrition (Examples of My Diet)Breakfast – (post training) about 300mls of low fat yogurt, handful of dried fruit and cashews/macadamias
Morning Tea – Protein Shake, piece of fruit or dried fruit, and a coffee
Lunch – HUGE salad with lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, capsicum, cucumber, onion, asparagus etc and about 100-150 gms of tuna
Afternoon Tea – a few lollies (my weakness) and a piece of fruit or strawberries, kiwi and cottage cheese (YUM) and a coffee or green tea
Dinner – A HUGE salad as per lunch, with 150 gm salmon steak or/and cooked prawns
After dinner – a few more lollies and a coffee or hot chocolate. Competition HistoryCompeted in SABBA first timers Figure and Physique (Dom Polski Centre) when I was 18 years old and placed 1st. Although I loved the challenge of the lead up to the competition, I prefer to enjoy the competition scene as a spectator. I enjoy the challenge and benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle 24/7, and am proud of my achievements and consistency to training and health. Goals (Future Plans and Career Expectations)My goal is to maintain my level of fitness, whilst enjoying life. I don’t ever want my fitness to get in the way of my wonderful home life. It can be hard to juggle work, relationships, responsibilities and a healthy level of fitness. This is why I train early in the morning while my boyfriend is working and my puppy is sleeping…
I have goals relating to my current employment in relation to advancement within the company, I have goals relating to my relationship and hope to live a long and lasting life with my boyfriend Paul, I have goals relating to my financial situation and (of course) hope to one day retire on a healthy bundle of cash…my main goal in life is to be happy, healthy and ALWAYS see the good in people!
I am a firm believer in Karma…I would like to think that the positive energy that I give to others will continue to come screaming back at me!
