Overview (A Little About Me)I have led an active lifestyle since a very young age, tennis being my main sport. A few years ago I sustained an injury to my shoulder which prevented me to continue playing tennis. I began training to strengthen and condition my shoulder early last year and was approached by a few trainers suggesting I should consider competing. I began training for Woman’s figure in September last year, and have fallen in love with the industry since.
Blitz Publications saw my potential and organised a shoot for the 2007/2008 Wet n Wild calendar for Australian Ironman. Since the calendar I have been lucky enough to have been presented with many more opportunities for fitness modelling without compromising my body building.
I couldn’t imagine working in any other industry so I left my job in administration and accounts to pursue a career in personal training. I am still studying. I want to be able to mentor people and teach them that healthy living is a lifestyle. There is no easy way of losing weight and gaining muscle. It takes hard work, persistence and strong will power.
Interests I love weight training, but most of all I just love being able to relax at home. And of course massages. Favourites (Food, Bodyparts, People)If it wasn’t for everyone who encouraged me at Nitro gym then I definitely would not be where I am. Mark Castagnini and Charlie Suriano have also been a huge help to me since I began pursuing a career in the fitness industry. And of course I cannot forget Neil Gardner and my trainer Anthony Wiparata.
My favourite food is my spinach and ricotta ravioli with home made sauce, bruschetta, frittata and my Nonna’s granita.
My favourite body parts are backs, shoulders and arms and v-lines
Motivations (What Motivates Me)I strive to be the best that I can be. I give my all when training, I diet hard. I want to stand on that stage knowing there was nothing more I could have done to improve my physique. Training History (Years, Location, Trainer)I have been training to compete for nine months now at Nitro Gym in Hallam, Melbourne. The gym and equipment is incredible, and everyone there is so supportive. My trainer is Anthony Wiparata. He trains me as he would one of his guys which has taken me so much further in such a short amount of time. Training Schedule (Training Style and Tips)I change my workouts every eight weeks, and taper every fourth and eighth week to allow for a much more intense workout. My schedule at the moment is-
*Monday - hamstrings and quads
*Tuesday – chest and calves
*Wednesday – back
*Thursday – shoulders, bi’s and tri’s
*Friday – back
*Saturday – shoulders, bi’s and tri’s
*Sunday – rest day
Cardio Schedule:
Cardio combined with abs 3 days a week. Every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday morning.
Nutrition (Examples of My Diet)*Meal 1 – protein shake with 10gms oats, 100gms low fat fruit yoghurt, green tea
*Meal 2 – 50gms tuna, 100gms steamed vegetables, green tea
*Meal 3 – protein shake with flaxseed oil, 60gms fruit salad
*Meal 4 – 50gms lean meat, 100gms steamed vegetables, green tea
*Meal 5 – Protein shake with flaxseed oil, 60gms fruit salad
*Meal 6 – 50gms tuna, 100gms steamed vegetables, green tea
Competition HistoryThis year will be my first year competing.
My first comp is on September 23rd – ANB Newcastle titles
My second is on – October 4th - INBA
Goals (Future Plans and Career Expectations)I hope to succeed in the first comps I compete in this year and not only have the chance to compete internationally but also become a pro figure competitor within the next few years. I aspire to be a reputable personal trainer and highly regarded within the health and fitness industry, training those who want to compete as well as those wanting to lose weight. My biggest goal however is to learn as much as possible about the industry, nutrition, exercise science etc, not only to benefit others but to also benefit myself and my future. Best Advice (Fitness, Health and Training)A healthy lifestyle is just that – A LIFESTYLE. There is no miracle pill to lose weight; there is no easy way to tone.
