"Slow and steady wins the race keep chipping away and
you'll get there. If it's worth doing at all, it's worth doing well." Overview (A Little About Me)I'm 35 yrs old; I have a 7 yr old son. I'm originally from the UK, I have been in Perth Australia for 16 yrs now. Life for me is very busy as with most people. Fitting everything I need to fit into one day is sometimes impossible. Working, training and running a home takes a lot of organising. I'm a very lucky lady I have the support of my loving parents and family, I really couldn't do what I do without them.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist; I believe that if something is worth doing it should be done right. That means giving things your all. I get frustrated when I can't pick up new things straight away. InterestsWell obviously one of my main ones is my training and doing Competition. I love to see the results that proper hard training can achieve. I will give anything a shot if I find it appealing.
I love to spend time with my son and my family. They all mean the world to me and just hanging out together is always fun.
Going out to dinner or to have a dance and a laugh with friends is something I love to do, so I try to make the most of in off season. Favourites (Food, Bodyparts, People)Chicken..yum I can never get sick of it! Sushi is also a favourite and anything seafood. Ice cream.. Who doesn't like that!!
I enjoy being around people who have the ability to push themselves just over the limit they thought was their limit. I admire the effort and hard work people put into their body to create a masterpiece others look at and think wow!
I love necks, wide shoulders and a nice set of pecs. Not forgetting of course a nice firm bum. LOL I'm only human!! Motivations (What Motivates Me)I find motivation in myself. If I want to do it I will put everything I have into achieving what it is I want. If there is any doubt in my mind about if I really want something I won't put the effort in.
I think people get caught up in what other people want for them not what they truly want for themselves. That is were failure comes in, by setting goals for others instead of yourself. Training History (Years, Location, Trainer)I train in Perth WA. I have lifted weights for about 13 yrs now. First just for fun, then with the idea of competing which came in 98.
I trained at the local gym, I had no idea what I was doing or what or how I was supposed to train. I then decided to get some personal training with a trainer my brother used at the time. I trained with the same coach/ trainer for about 10 yrs. I learnt a lot about how to train, He taught me great training technique and form.
Until just recently I have trained by myself, I now train regularly with a training partner, I have seen great results in my physique in this short time and I now realise the importance of that to achieve better results and better growth. Training Schedule (Training Style and Tips)For me I have always tried to get at least 5 weight sessions in per week, my program changes a fair bit from training 1 to 2 body parts a session to training 3 to 4 body parts. Now training with a partner I can push myself that much more using more negative reps in my set instead of to failure on my own, this has helped me to improve a lot and keep my strength up. I always train slow and concentrate on the muscles I'm working keeping my muscle under load for as long as I can. I find this training style has kept me growing and free from injury.

Ha ha ha cardio... What is that???? No really I do a bit of cardio in the last few weeks of my comp prep, on the bike or stepper. Nutrition (Examples of My Diet)Usually it's low to no carbs, plenty of protein like chicken, egg whites, fish, and lean meat. I eat loads of vegies and limit my fruit. I have 6 meals a day, when I'm preparing for my comp I eat as clean as I can. I stay away from cheat days I find these make the idea of dieting harder plus you get the taste for yummy thing!!!! My first international in 2005 I placed 8 th. To achieve a better result next time would be a great feeling. Best Advice (Fitness, Health and Training)All I can suggest is have a goal in mind before you start. Talk to lots of different people about the way they approach things and how they train and prepare for competition. Read up on things you're unsure about. Keep a program going all year round to stay on top of things. Most of all enjoy the ride after all we do it cos we love it. Supplements UsedI have never really used supplements except for my protein shakes, After talking to Simon who is very helpful in knowing what works and what doesn't. I have used pre workout supplements some of the time to give me a kick start with my training. I have also used Xtend which has helped with my training and recovery. athlete gallery : Angela Thomasedit my profile . . . + more athlete profilesmore sponsored athlete profiles . . . + | more bodybuilding profiles . . . + | more profiles . . . + |
